Summoner of the Order of Heroes
Profile
In the year 2017, Amaia’s life revolved around spending whatever she had on energy drinks and playing low quality gacha games. Unwilling to pursue a higher education or keep a job, the 19 year old woman lived off of a pension left by her father, barely enough to cover her otherwise frugal lifestyle. She had been living by herself for about three years now, the only things keeping her company in the unfurnished apartment she called home were her games and a couple of pigeons that had a nest by her window.During a normal summer day of summer, the Order of Heroes made the decision to use the divine relic Briedablik and Amaia was pulled from her normal life into the world of Zenith. The Order of Heroes hands the relic to her, requesting her assistance against Embla. Reluctantly, she accepts, taking up the mantle of Summoner of the Order of heroes. When asked what her name was, she requested they call her Roach, as she refused to use her real name here.
BOOK I
Now with the assistance of their Summoner, the Order of Heroes could fight back against Embla in earnest. By going through the worlds under Embla’s control, more allies would join their cause, now freed from the Empire. Although she was the summoner, Roach kept her distance from the heroes, commanding them from afar and keeping their interactions to the bare minimum whenever she could, citing that she didn’t want to creep them out. In reality, she felt out of place, put in a war of legendary heroes while she was just an ordinary woman. When asked to describe her World to the Askrans, the place she describes is nothing like any of the Worlds they’ve been to, making her feel even more out of her depth. As much as the commander tried reassuring her, Roach still knew Askr would never really feel like home to her, and knowing there was no gateway back to her world was not comforting. As they search for ways to gain an edge over princess Veronica of Embla, princess Sharena reminisces over their friend Zacharias, who had joined their order before the summoner’s arrival, only to then disappear overnight. They search for this lost friend, only to find out Zacharias’ real identity being that of Bruno, older brother to Veronica. With this they also discover the Emblian bloodline’s curse, compelling them to be in conflict with the Askrans.Things settled down, the war between the two nations coming to a stalemate. Anna, urged by information given to them by Zacharias, leads the Order into the Eternal Sanctum, told there was a power they could use hidden within. There they find details to perform the rite of Awakening, and obtain the power of the Sacred seals. The summoner is visited in her dreams, the voice of a woman telling her of a power dormant in a shrine further west to the Sanctum, and asking if she knows her sister. Following the directions given by it, the Order attains the power to further enhance their weapons, known as refinement.
BOOK II
Another skirmish breaks out after a brief period of peace, Embla attacking with flames that do not die down, reminding the Order if Heroes of a prophecy that tells the end of the world, where a man cloaked in flame consumes the world in it. Embla has become allied to the kingdom of fire, Múspell, to destroy both Askr and Nifl, the kingdom of Ice. In attempting to learn more of this new enemy, they come across an injured princess Fjorm, taking her back to Askr. Once their efforts begin in earnest to push back against the kingdom of fire, they realize there’s nothing that will pierce Surtr’s defenses, not unlike Veronica with Embla’s ward. The voice that spoke to the summoner before reveals herself to be Gunnthrá, first sister of Nifl’s royal family.Gunnthrá leads the group through dreams, giving them directions to an otherwise abandoned region of Nifl, where she will finally meet the Order of Heroes to perform the Rite of Frost, which will finally make Surtr vulnerable. However, the forces of Múspell reach the sanctuary first, and Gunnthrá is killed by the king, but not before speaking to the summoner, to lead them into another safe sanctuary where they might perform the rite. Finally able to slay the king of Flame, the group ventures into Múspell, where they find the captured princess Yglr, as well as prince Hrid, eldest in the Nifl royal family, who has been fighting Múspell since they began their invasion. Ambushed on their way to stop the rite of Flame, the group finds out one of their own is a traitor, as Yglr has been Loki all along. As the rite is thwarted, Surtr is finally defeated and killed, and the royal family can return to Nifl, Fjorm coming to Askr with the rest of the Order, as her own strength wanes, her life having been forfeit to the rite of Frost.WIth the Breidablik upgraded, Roach figures a way to open a gateway to the World of Steel, though it has several limits. The gate only stays open for a few hours at most, and it can only open every once a couple of months.
Several months after, Surtr is brought back against his will. The order confronts Loki in the temple where the king was slain, where she gives Sharena an ominous warning of the future, as Death’s scythe hangs over her. Before disappearing again, she hopes they meet again before it strikes her.
BOOK III
By Queen Henriette's request, the royal siblings are to return to Askr, as their father, King Gustav, has requested to speak with them. As they make their way back, they encounter the army of the dead, commanded by Líf and Thrasir, both under orders of Hel. They also meet Eir, princess of Hel, sent as a double agent to infiltrate the ranks of the Askrans. King Gustav tells the Order of the barrier he ordered be made for the tomb that serves as a gate to the realm of the dead, which stood for 20 years, and has now fallen. They march towards it, and encounter the ruler of the realm of the dead, who places a curse upon Alfonse, giving him nine days left to live. With time against them now, they must find a way to undo the curse. On the day of Alfonse’s death, they hope to strike her as she attempts to take him away, only for Gustav to shield his son, letting himself be taken by Hel.With the king lost and placed as part of Hel’s army, the Order of Heroes venture into the realm of the dead. As they come across a blood stained site, Eir reveals she herself is mortal, and once held a great amount of lives within her, her mother killing her over and over again, as each death granted her power. Hel curses Alfonse once more, giving him nine days to leave, during which he swears to find her weakness, as during those nine days he cannot be claimed by her. They follow Líf into an open gate, leading them into a realm not unlike their own Askr, only it was completely devoid of life. In there they figure out that Líf is just the Alfonse from this Askr, having lost everyone in the Order of Heroes, including his sister, and Thrasir is Veronica from this world. The rite required to acquire the weapon that will finally kill Hel will eventually wipe all life from the world it is performed in, as it happened in the parallel Askr, but figuring the rite has already been completed here, the Order of Heroes alongside princess Veronica make their way to the Emblian Blood Temple. The relic they required was the parallel world’s Breidablik, held by Líf as he refused to let go of his summoner’s weapon. Knowing everything that happened in this world was partially the fault of her other self from this world, Roach felt an immense amount of guilt taking it from him.Eir kills the Summoner as ordered, earning the truth from her mother Hel, telling her that the loving mother she sees in her dreams is Eir’s birth mother, who Hel killed long ago. Revealing that the summoner had never been in danger, Eir betrays Hel to protect the Order of Heroes, and the summoner uses the relic alongside Veronica to slay Hel once and for all. Once they return, Roach wakes up after a vivid dream, seeing the previous summoner's death.
BOOK IV
Reports of a sleeping sickness come from the border of Askr, with entire villages being consumed by it. Trapped in the world of dreams without Roach, they meet Peony, a ljósálfar under the command of the Dream King Freyr. The dream King grants them Gullinkambi, which will bring them back to the waking world, leaving him vulnerable to an ambush by Freyja. Using the horn, the party find themselves back in the waking world, only Roach still is nowhere to be found, and what’s more no one but Alfonse remembers her.As the nightmares begin spilling out into reality, they find Peony once again, leaving them to another ljósálfar named Mirabilis. As they make their way there, they are joined by Veronica once more, and Alfonse realizes his own memories are beginning to slip, unable to remember how he met Veronica’s brother. Mirabilis takes them all to the source of the nightmares, Dökkálfheimr, where Freyja has taken Freyr. Memories of playing with other girls come up to Sharena’s mind, of an adventure to save the world, of being given a nectar by a woman, but the memories are hazy, as if seen through frosted glass. The group lands in the Lewd Dream, created by Plumeria, and hear the voice of a little girl. Sharena remembers more of her dreams, where she met a girl who looked the same as her, exchanging their identities to play, akin to the legends of changelings. Now trapped in the world of nightmares, the dream king reveals that the ljósálfar and dökkálfr were all mortal children once, as their world needed to be saved. Only girls with no real home to return to were given the dream nectar, with the exception of one princess who found herself in the land of dreams by mistake. To halve Freyja’s power, Freyr allows himself to be killed, dreams no longer bending into reality. The queen follows into the waking world, taunting the ljósálfar with their memories of their mortal lives, and making Sharena realize she was meant to become one of them too. As the princess had changed places with the girl who would become Peony countless times, she can no longer tell if she really is Sharena or not. Realizing they’re still trapped in a dream, they attempt to use Gullinkambi once more to return, only for it to fail. At a loss, they are ambushed by Roach, knocking her out and taking off her cloak for the first time, only to reveal prince Alfonse. Realizing it had been her all along, Freyja tells her the truth, Alfonse and the summoner had ceased to exist, this dream being a result of Roach's conscious wish for a reality where Alfonse still lived, while subconsciously wishing she did not.In truth, Alfaðör had removed Alfonse from reality itself as he found he had become too powerful, after taking down Hel. Finally free from the dream, the party find prince Alfonse alive, uncertain if Freyja had lied, or if Roach’s dream had willed him back into reality. With both the dream king and nightmare queen dead, the ljósálfar and dökkálfr were released from their service.

As an exchange, she captures Roach and takes her to Ótr, who has tricked the princess by convincing her he’ll marry her. Taken captive, it is revealed they need her to complete the Járngreipr, a weapon to destroy gates, as it requires both the summoner’s soul and the Breidablik. Eitri is able to begin it’s construction, but the Order arrives to rescue Roach before the process gets too far along. Having created a seiðjárn based off the Breidablik, the sage summons her own heroes, although only as empty soulless husks. Fáfnir starts leading an attack into Askr, forcing the Order to retreat. He seeks to go through a gate, and is easily defeated in Askr’s castle, after which he’s imprisoned and Reginn sneaks off to the Tower of Niðavellir for answers to her brother’s condition. Discovering he’s not of Niðavellir and thus was rejected as it’s ruler, the Order has another question before them, now having no idea just who they are dealing with. She bluntly reveals to him that it was her who summoned him to this world, being the only one who kept a sense of self from her experiments.Catching up to him, the Order finds Niðavellir in ruins, as Fáfnir had been overcome by the crown of the dvergar, as he was not of royal blood. The only one who remains of the true royal family is Reginn, and she takes up Gramr to finally bring an end to the king. In his dying moments, he remembers who he had been before coming to Niðavellir. There is one last thing they must do before Reginn ascends to the throne and restores the peace, making way to the forest to find Eitri. The sage reveals finally the whole truth, she served the first king of Niðavellir, and has kept herself alive by passing her soul to different vessels for thousands of years, serving the crown in each life. Once dead, she gives a final warning to the summoner in the form of a dream.
BOOK VI
A report comes from the border between Askr and Embla, a village has been completely closed off, a black void in it’s place. The order moves to investigate the odd occurrence, quickly escalating as more and more villages, both of Askr and Embla are swallowed by this darkness. With no leads, the group encounters Ash and Elm, retainers to the divine Askr and Embla. Since this could only be the work of Embla’s power, Ash joins their fight against Elm, following him into the border of the two countries and then into Embla’s territory, where Veronica joins the party once more as this is affecting her villages too. There they are met by Letizia, Imperial Marquess and Curse Director, who assures them since there was no intent of encroaching into their borders they are free to go, leading them to a mountain route for safe passage. Veronica follows the Order of heroes to the border, and is overcome by the curse of her blood, making her attack her allies. While running from Veronica, the group discovers their route back to Askr has been cut off, trapping them in Imperial territory.Letizia catches up to the Order once more to give grim news, princess Veronica has been accused of treason, framed by marquess Letizia, forcing the princess to run away. The marquess approaches the still stranded Order of Heroes, informing them that Veronica is on the run, and if she’s with them they are to hand her over. Having found the injured princess by a riverbank, the Order refuses to hand her over, only for Veronica to walk over to her arrest by herself, buying the Askrans safe passage. Letizia had lied, however, and with no intentions of letting the group return, she requests they hand over their weapons to be arrested as well, otherwise she will give the order for more villages to be swallowed by the darkness. Ash uses her own power to free the villages at the cost of her own health. Knowing now that Letizia will stop at nothing to have her way, Alfonse makes the decision to talk to her, making himself to be more callous and cold to his people, uncaring if Ash loses her life to dispel the darkness, telling her that he killed his own father for the throne, and that he will kill her as well. As the day of Veronica’s execution approaches, more and more cracks in Letizia’s lies begin to show, more of her own soldiers distrusting her and siding with Veronica, and her grip on the narrative begins to slip.As the princess escapes and Letizia confronts the Order once more, Embla descends into Midgard, covering the realm in darkness and utilizing the members of the royal family as puppets, compelling Askr to descend to protect his subjects at the cost of his power. He grants sanctuary to the Order of Heroes in his realm, where he grants them the Yggdrasill key, which will let them defeat Embla so long as it is consumed by one of her blood, with the desire to be free from it. Askr fades away shortly after, as the Rite of Opening claimed all his power. While planning how to best proceed, Roach slips away for approximately a week towards the Tempest over Hel, as her heart has begun hurting too much to ignore. She leaves instructions as to what to do if she were to not return. While in Hel, she pulls out her damaged heart and exchanges it for the heart of Angrboða, leading her to become possessed. She's beat by Hal, who manages to stabilize her to an extent. Whatever lasting damage and effects have been caused by the heart remain to be seen. After returning to the field, the group decide to go through with their plan. Embla figures out they were using the Yggdrasill key, willingly abandoning her claim over Bruno, leaving him to die. As she believes she’s crushed her enemies, Veronica reveals the key had been entrusted to her, and Embla had let her guard down. The god of Closure had been finally defeated, and now the Askran royalty could make peace with princess Veronica.
